Extension Privacy Policy
JB - Jot Brief: names in Google Meet. Last updated: October 3, 2026.
In short: the extension sends no data to the developer's servers or to any third party. The names of who is speaking in Google Meet go only to the JB - Jot Brief app installed on your own computer.
What the extension does
While you are in a Google Meet call, the extension watches the page to see which participant is speaking and tells the JB - Jot Brief (Windows) app running on your computer. That way the voices in the transcript get the speaker's name. This is the extension's only purpose.
What data it accesses
- Participants' display names and the "speaking" indicator, which already appear on the Google Meet page. This happens only on
meet.google.comand only while the page is open. - The extension does not read, record or send audio, video, chat messages, e-mails or the content of the conversation.
Where the data goes
- Only to
http://127.0.0.1:47821, which is the JB - Jot Brief app running on your computer. The app stores these notices in the meeting folder, also on your computer. - There is no developer server, usage analytics, advertising, sale or sharing of data with third parties.
- The extension does not download or run remote code.
What is stored
Only one local preference: show or hide the badge in Google Meet (in chrome.storage.local).
